The Chic Home Method is a different way of thinking about design.

Not as decoration.
Not as trend-chasing.

But as a process of
understanding how you live,
what you respond to, and how
to move forward with greater clarity.

Design is deeply personal.

But most people are never
taught how to move through it
with confidence.

They collect inspiration.
Save images.
Research endlessly.

Yet the hardest part is often
knowing:
what fits,
what matters,
and when to move forward.

The Chic Home Method was
created to make that process
feel more intentional—and
less overwhelming. It emerged
during the redesign of our own
home—a process that revealed
how quickly design decisions become
overwhelming when endless
inspiration, emotional investment,
differing opinions, and deeply personal
aspirations all converge at once.

What began as a remodel
gradually became a clearer
way of thinking about design:
not as a search for perfection
or trends, but as a process of
creating a home that feels
aligned with how you truly
want to live.

Whether you’re designing on
your own or working with
professionals, a clearer way of
thinking creates a more
cohesive process—and a more
personal result.

The Chic Home Method was
developed by Barbara Leflein
during the redesign of her own
home, informed by a career
studying consumer behavior,
lifestyle aspirations, and how
people navigate deeply
personal decisions.
